11/04/14: Down in the dark dungeon lab of East Bloc, mad scientists Larry Tee and Attack Attack Attack hooked the battery cables to their lil’ monster’s neck plugs, cranked up the voltage and unleashed another Super Electric Party Machine onto the lovable carny folk.

High-energy funk house ripped through the joint packed with the sweaty, shirtless, the weird and wonderful all come together in the panoply of style and fun that always makes the East End worth the trip across town.

LT and AAA had ‘em lubed and ready for main stage DJ Kris Di Angelis’ “heavy dance music”, serious man-size beats that shook the plaster from the ceiling: “It’s incredible from the minute I step in! I love it here!” The back room swirled with the familiar funk-pop, old school grooves of James Long and Maddy Endrighi early on and wrapped up tight with the harder twisted vogue-worthy bass lines of Colby B. from NYC.

Special treat was an appearance by soon-to-be Eurovision winner, Austria’s own Conchita Wurst (yes, “sausage”, figure it out people). The bearded songstress belted out two power pop hits: “That’s What I Am” and contest entry ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’. A drag artist since her teens, Ms. Wurst is first and foremost a pro singer and songwriter. “I just want to do a good job onstage and change some minds,” she told us. She certainly blew some minds at East Bloc as the crowd tore down the walls and stomped for more. Yessir, I think we have a weiner – I mean, winner!

Purple-haired Viking Matthew Kerry, did a show that was “fierce, fab and bitches gonna gag!” She wasn’t foolin’! I wish I could print what MK did!

FiFi la True swanned about in her festooned wig and svelte body giving bon mots to all and adding that touch of Warhol-chic to this new romantic denizen. “Being glamtrash isn’t about being cunty, darling. Only the insecure bitches are nasty. I know I’m beautiful, so I can afford to be sweet,” she glared with pearly whites. Yes, Glinda, only bad witches are ugly…

Eurovision trannies, Warhol glam-trash, Vikings, sexy bartenders, wicked DJs, card sharks, – SEPM got it all!
