Founded in 1999, Imaan is the UK’s leading LGBT Muslim charity. It offers social support and meetings for those who identify both as Muslim, and lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

In a world where religion and sexuality are often polarized, it’s an important and valuable resource. If we expect to move forward from insidious influences like Islamophobia, homophobia, and xenophobia, groups like Imaan are of paramount importance.

Imaan has grown over the last two decades, and now has hundreds of dedicated members. Together, they attend pride marches, organize religion-based events, and reflect on what it means to be both Muslim and LGBTQI.
