This Sunday, the 8th annual Red Run will take place in Victoria Park. Over 600 runners are expected to take part, all to raise money for 28 HIV charities across the UK. Over the years, over £200,000 has been donated to vital causes.

Participants can run either 5k or 10k, with both courses timed by chip and results sent via text. Pre-race entertainment comes from drag girl band Denim and Horse Meat Disco, while East End royalty Dame Barbara Windsor will be cutting the ribbon. Starbucks will be providing hot drinks on site, while panels of the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display in a giant tent.

If you want to take part, you’ve still got time to enter. The deadline for online registration is Thursday 23rd November (redrun.org.uk). Even if you’re not much of a runner, you can still head along to the official after party at People’s Park Tavern, where there will be a BBQ, drinks, and a lot of sweaty men!
