Africa Fashion Week London is the biggest African fashion event in the world. Now in its ninth year, it’s showcased over 900 emerging designers and exhibitors from Africa, as well as those of African descent from Europe and America.

It’s grown in popularity and scope, and this year it’s set to be bigger than ever, with boutiques, food markets, special displays and of course fashion shows.

This year the focus and theme is sustainability, eco-fashion and diversity. The eclectic mix of shows will display the talents of designers from Nigeria, South Africa, Botswana, Ghana, The Seychelles, Rwanda, Belgium and more.

There’ll also be a special celebrity fashion show with Richard Blackwood, Moelogo and Atumpan all expected to attend and cast their eye over the clothes on show.

If you’re inspired by the designers, you can even pull your own look together – The Best Dressed Award on Saturday 10th awards a member of the audience a cash prize for the best afro-centric look.

It’s this weekend at the historic Freemason’s Hall in Holborn. For more info and tickets, head to the official AFWL website.
