We’ve all been prematurely mourning the end of Schitt’s Creek. The CBC comedy series announced this year that this coming season is to be its last. Even though the show glittered with fantastic performances and characters, including from the real-life father-son duo of Daniel and Eugene Levy, it was Catherine O’Hara’s turn as Moira Rose that made the show ICONIC. The riches to rags story is embodied in Moira who drags her priceless couture gowns down dirt country roads.
It’s clear that the show’s costumiers had fun bringing the character to life through over-sized Channel sun glasses and belted metallic shift dresses. Moira brought monochrome black and white back in style, and has served as fashion inspiration for many an art school queer.
On the 3rd of October, some of Moira’s most iconic pieces go up for auction. That’s right. You can swan your away cross-town in genuine Moira Rose finery. The team behind the costumes of Schitt’s Creek have teamed up with online auctionhouse VSP Consignment for a special online charity sale.
The Canada-based sales firm will be sending pieces away to the highest bidder.
