COVID-19 has hit London with full force. The virus does not discriminate, but its deadly spread across the city is magnifying inequality and injustice.

Now, queer people are even more threatened. We know that COVID-19 is most damaging and deadly for the most vulnerable. Some members of our community are at a heightened risk, like LGBTIQ+ refugees, immuno-compromised people, queer people living with homo-, bi-, and transphobic relatives under lock-down, LGBTIQ+ elders, and many more.

More than ever, we must stick together and support each other.

That’s why the group The Outside Project has launched an initiative to connect those Londoners who’d like to offer their support with those who need a helping hand. It’s really simple:

If you or someone you know need help with collecting shopping or medical supplies, posting mail, dog walking, or just having someone to talk to, please fill out this form.

If you’d like to volunteer and help yourself, let us know by filling out this form.

And there’s more:

The Outside Project has created a Virtual Community Center where LGBTIQ+ people can come together, socialise, and even party in a safe environment. Check it out and let your friends know about it, too! (They’re also looking for more volunteers to help run the virtual center, so email if you want to join!)
