QX has held off on the Big Christmas Push for as long as humanely possible, but it’s now upon us and we can resist no longer, so first up are the BIG Queer Christmas Shows that are being staged across London.
Clementine’s Christmas Box at The Rosemary Branch
Clementine the Living Fashion Doll returns to the Rosemary Branch after her fabulous residency in London’s glittering West End. Her intimate new show features a selection box of songs from camp Christmas classics to favourites from the American Song Book, all perfectly lip synced .There are even two new numbers specially composed for Clementine by music supremos Roulston and Young. Clementine will also be showing several of her fantastic films including her stunning new spectacular , specially written by the Rosie’s very own Cecilia Darker. It’s a proper Christmas TV Special, live on stage with fake snow and genuine warmth. Ages over 14.

Meet Me For The Holidays at The Hen And Chicken Theatre
A QX TOP PICK this season, it’s Christmas time at Perkins, a rundown department store in London. Classically trained actor Nigel Cole, his career in a slump, is Perkins’ reluctant new Santa. What he lacks in Christmas spirit is made up by Alistair, the gay actor/former chorus boy playing his Elf. Alistair’s incessantly flamboyant attitude gets on Nigel’s nerves. Nigel’s right-wing conservatism threatens to dampen Alistair’s holiday spirit. As they lock horns during what should be a happy, festive season, Perkins’ management tries to do damage control.
But a Christmas ghost aims to change all this. Will Nigel catch the Christmas spirit? Will Alistair’s camp flair for bursting into showtunes finally be too much for Nigel? What does a ghost have to do with it? And will Perkins be saved from closing forever? Join On Book Theatre for this light-hearted new comedy by Ian Nicholas that will definitely warm your heart. The Pleasance’s Christmas extravaganza this year is Dog Show (press night 1stDecember and running until 19th December), created by Ginger Johnson and David. A late-night canine cabaret that cocks its leg at the fetishisation of queer identity, Dog Show unpacks the themes of freedom, control, dominance and power, all while serving up a spectacularly silly and sexy drag show. It’s highly original.

The Guilty Feminist Presents: CAMP AS CHRISTMAS
