On student Tuesdays there is free entry after 7pm to students provided you show your student card. PLUS All day free on Sunday and Wednesday for 25 and under (proof of age required).

4. Disco Blouse

A queer run polysexual event, Disco Blouse is a party with a view as it’s on the 40th floor of Heron Tower at Bishopsgate. The next party is on the 22nd January, 10pm-3am, and the guest list is free. Flash the cash and you can reserve a table, scoff on yummy sushi and sip delightful cocktails. This place has got class. More preview info here

5. The British Museum

The BM can never be totally ‘done’, there’s always more to see. There’s just so much stuff! Centuries of ‘collecting’ have filled this ginormous building to the brim with beautiful and interesting things and there’s so much of it still in the basement that has yet to see the light of day. There are even items relating to gay men going down in history and the ‘Warren Cup’ is an example. It is surprisingly small but shows scenes of men making love. Made in the Roman Empire around 1BC-10 AD, it is now known after its modern owner, the American art collector Edward Perry Warren (1860–1928). He lived with his friend (and probably lover) John Marshall in Lewes in Sussex, and he referred to the cup as the ‘Holy Grail’. In 1999 it was finally acquired by the British Museum, who had not purchased it earlier in the 1950s when ‘homosexuality’ was still illegal in Britain. It has been on public display ever since for everyone to SEE FOR FREE, so if you’ve got half an hour to kill go and check it out (room 70).

6. Two Brewers

The centre of Clapham’s queer village puts on a show nearly every day of the week and if you get there early you not only get the chance of meeting the love of your life at the bar but you also get to see the show for free. Check out our listings for varying times and prices.

7. Zodiac Bar

New on the scene they may be, but the Zodiac team haven’t been shy in coming forward. Tonight, Jan 14  there is a free showing of Four Lives (the real life and harrowing story of a serial killer) followed by a panel discussion. Their new basement club, Z Club, has free entry on Fridays and Saturdays. There are also free drag shows on a Wednesday! Zodiac is a totally LGBTQ+ inclusive safe space and is trans focused.  Free entry is very welcome and Zodiac is a welcome addition to London’s vibrant LGBTQ+ scene.

8. Hampstead Heath

The main action takes place behind Jack Straws Castle. It can get very busy, especially at weekends and in the summer it can actually get too busy. Al fresco in public may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but the locals tend to leave everyone to it. It’s so free and easy!

9. G-A-Y Heaven

G-A-Y Heaven is one of the biggest LGBTQ+ clubs in London and definitely the most famous, attracting a young and energetic crowd who know how to have a good time. Right now, if you go to G-A-Y Bar you can get a wristband ticket for PORN IDOL on a Thursday and CAMP ATTACK on a Friday for £1. That’s almost free!
