Ben is a liberal gay man who moves with his partner into a flat in a run-down but up-and-coming neighbourhood in a wickedly funny satire of middle-class mores. Ben plants a tree outside his building to improve the area. This is a good deed that unwittingly triggers a series of events resulting in an Eritrean immigrant’s brutal arrest. Ben is guilt-stricken, and his vision of himself and society is shaken. He experiences a crisis that threatens to destroy his relationship and fatherhood aspirations.

A talented songwriter, Felipe pours his soul into his lyrics, evoking thwarted desire. With their gig debut just around the corner, things come to a head, and suddenly everything is at stake: friendship, love, and the band. Mariano Biasin’s vibrant drama, Sublime vividly captures the heartache of adolescent angst and longing.

As a result, he finds himself down and out in Sydney. Casey then meets Tib, a young city lad struggling with his scars of isolation. There’s an instant chemistry, both sexually and emotionally, as both men find something they have been missing. Can they overcome their insecurities and let the other in, or are the walls they have built too strong to knock down?
