After his mother’s death, Egyptian teenager Nabil (Ryan Ali) relocates to Toronto to live with his traditional father. There, he meets Malibu (Alexandra Billings), who is determined to protect her drag night club, Mandy’s, from being demolished.

While waiting to learn how to sew like his mother, Nabil finds a drag mentor in the lively Malibu. As Nabil begins to embrace his true self, the fight to save the club intensifies, putting him at odds with his architect father and positioning drag queens and LGBTQ+ individuals against the gentrification-oriented establishment.

Reem Morsi, an Egyptian-Canadian filmmaker, directs Queen Tut, starring the acclaimed transgender artist Alexandra Billings, known for her role as Davina in Transparent, as well as her appearances in ER, How To Get Away With Murder, Grey’s Anatomy and The Conners. The film also features Syrian-Canadian actor Ryan Ali (known for TV’s SkyMed) in his feature film debut, along with Thom Allison (from Killjoys) and Canadian drag queen Selena Vyle.

This is a heartfelt and entertaining story about coming out and embracing one’s authentic self, told through the world of drag.
