Ahead of the Qatar World Cup final on Sunday, actress and political activist Miriam Margolyes OBE delivers a vital message online to inform the nation about The Big Gay “Donation.” Miriam is fronting a Big Gay “Donation” crowdfund to get the 2030 World Cup held in an LGBTQIA friendly host country.
In the video, the much-loved actress says: “Queer people across the globe love football – we can’t support it like everyone else. We’ve seen how Qatar feels about us gays.”
She says, “If that wasn’t a big enough kick in the tits, the 2030 World Cup could be given to another host nation that criminalises LGBTQ+ people, judging by the countries currently bidding for it.”
Luckily, the wonderful, upstanding people who run football love “donations”. So, with that in mind, Miriam launched one of her own. The Big Gay “Donation”.
A “donation” so big and gay and persuasive – it can convince the lovely, open-minded, honest people who run football to hold the 2030 world cup in an LGBTQIA friendly host nation. We see the actress on the phone asking how much cash our football friends may want to help make this happen – she goes on to suggest the next host nation of the World Cup could be The Netherlands – as she flashes a wad of money to get their attention.
Miriam added: “It’s our big gay duty to ensure this doesn’t happen again. After all, a World Cup without queer people isn’t a World Cup. If you’re a great big gay and you love football like me, or if you love football and are also gay, please donate whatever you can to try to get those naughty boys who run football to listen.”
Of course, Miriam is aware they may not accept this generous crowdfunded “donation” – with a chance it might go against their unimpeachable moral standards. So, all the crowdfunded “donation” money will go to the LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall instead.
