Carnivale is the new spectacular night of breathtaking performance and blistering beats poised to take over one of London’s most beautiful venues, the gorgeous Café de Paris. We spoke to Master of Ceremonies Tristan Temple and one of the awe-inspiring acts lined up for your entertainment, Andromeda Circus, to whet your appetites a little more…

Tristan Temple

Tell us a bit about yourself.

Well, I work as an actor, model and singer and have worked in many West End shows such as Priscilla, Chicago and Cats and have also performed in many feature films. I’ve hosted many fashion events and have worked as a host on many clubs.

What is the Carnivale experience and why should we be excited?

The Carnivale experience will be a dark, sensual night of weird and wonderful performances. London has been missing an evening like this.

This experience will be a major highlight of your weekend.

You will be truly amazed!

How did you get involved with hosting the event?

I was approached by Daniel, Jody and Nickie to be the MC for Carnivale. I am very much looking forward to being part of this dark, delectable and mysterious evening.

What are you most looking forward to about the night?

It is quite possibly one of the most original and glamorous nights out there right now. We have some incredible performances that will make your mouth drop wide open as well as the fantastic talent of DJ Kris Di Angelis who will make the whole club shake!! Our dancers also will be seriously breathtaking.

What kind of crowd are you expecting to get through the doors of Cafe de Paris?

Well, our doors are open to all that want to come. You will not be disappointed.

And finally, what will you be wearing? In fact, give us a tip – what should we wear?

You will have to wait and see what I will be wearing. But be assured it won’t be tame! I say come as you are or if you are feeling in the mood, we welcome the misfits to dress in a more lavish and inappropriate fashion 😉

Andromeda Circus

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am from Spain. I started performing when I was a kid doing lip-synching. As a teenager I started taking ballet class. Soon after I started doing gymnastics and following that I got into the crazy circus world.

Being from the Canary Islands means being from the world of the Carnival. Building my stage career I got a big influence from Carnival. This means passion for outfits and for creative make up. That is why these days I’m known for my unpredictable, outrageous looks onstage.

After my career highs in Spain I decided to move to a bigger country where I could improve and take my skills to an international level. I moved to London and after couple of months of training and set about achieving my goals.

What kind of performance do you do? How did you get into it initially?

I am primarily a circus performer, specializing in aerial and fire. Becoming an aerial performer is the result of me always trying to find something more difficult to do. I enjoy the challenge, always looking another goal to achieve, something more to fight for. Being a fire performer is a passion. It is somehow alive, you play with it and it plays with you.

What can we expect from your Carnivale spectacular?

More than you could imagine. We have selected the best performers in London.  We have a combination of outstanding freak performances and sensual skills on show. We will take you to the limits…

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing on the night?

Carnival is taking the theme to the edge. I can’t wait to see the amazing Marnie Scarlet with her incredible, unexpected outfits and shows freaking everyone out. Matt will bring the hench to the stage. It’s always delightful to see his muscled body climbing and descending the equipment…Our other girl Angelica Thistel has a very twisted circus style. She always impresses me with her commanding presence.

And finally, we’re sure you’re going to be impressing everyone with your stage skills, but what would someone have to do at the night to impress you?

Ha ha ha… a nice sexy outfit, a pretty smile, but most of all a happy mood to party and join our Carnivale.

• Carnivale is on Sunday 8th June at Café de Paris, 3-4 Coventry Street, W1D 6BL from 7pm-1am.
